The average age of the readers of this blog has just decreased considerably. Small Things Considered is included in the list of educational sites provided to the youngsters in Ms. Putnam's sixth grade science class at Jefferson Middle School in Columbia, Mississippi.
And we had thought that we presented advanced microbiological material!
I love reading your blog because it is so clearly presented and easily understood. As a journalist with no previous scientific education, who is now investigating microbiology as a result of personal circumstances, I find your blog articles fascinating. It is a much-underestimated skill to be able to communicate knowledge outside one's own specialism. I was delighted to read of your recent award. I will continue following the blog with great interest, as I am convinced the overlap of microbiology with the general population's current experience of medicine, epidemiology and environmental science is reaching a tipping point.
